HandBrake 0.9.1 released
October 8, 2007

The great team at HandBrake, the open-source, glp licensed, dvd to mpeg converter, has
release verion 0.9.1. The purpose behind this latest update is all about stability. 0.9.0 wasn't the perfected application they had hoped, and 0.9.1 rectifies these stability issues and brings us a few more options.
We think the new 'prettier' interface suites the application well. It is very intuitive, even for the newbs out there. The advanced options such as reference frames, motion estimation, and de-blocking give the most advanced videophile a grin on their face. If you fancy yourself as an amateur videophile like myself, I would stick with the basics, and slowly start playing with the advances stuff.

Additional improvements in this release include performance enhancements, color subtitles, subtitle support, case senstive naming, larger buffers, and fixing the target size. For a complete list of changes you can check the
trac log.
We personally love the improvement to the close captioning and we also encourage application to improve their performance. Especially when tit comes to something like compressing and converting movies. The
download is available now at a whopping 5.5MB for OS-X.
