Warner may reject iTunes renewal

October 26, 2007   1 Comments

It appears that on the day if Leopards release, Apple's iTunes may be receiving some more unfortunate news. Warner Music is considering joining Universal in rejecting a one-year deal with Apple. Warner Music include Atlantic Records, Elektra, Bad Boy, Rhino Records and Word Entertainment.

Apple's iTunes Store seems to be running into more and more difficulties with record labels, television studios, and perhaps movie studios. Apple wants to provide as much content for its iTunes users, while making a buck, and it would seem to me that the studios, labels, etc would want the same thing. Can't they all just get a long?

perhaps the lack of flexibility is starting to bite Apple a bit.

i don't shop at itunes and prefer cds... maybe the sales just aren't what they expected?

who knows. i vote for unhindered media.
